Artist Priscilla Stadler challenged the people of Queens – and beyond – to disprove the stereotype of New Yorkers as cut-throat egomaniacs by doing favors for friends, family and strangers. What happened? Come to the Space Gallery and find out.
The FAVORS installation is made from paper spirals, each inscribed with a favor done in conjunction with the project. It is free. Open Monday – Saturday from 1 – 6 pm.

Saturday, November 23, 4 – 6 pm Artist’s Talk and the Culture of Favors panel discussion including topics such as: What is the role of favors in communities that must help each other to survive? Is the enforcement of favor-doing being used to make Chinese children obedient? And when favors come with a high cost, are they still favors? Join us with Adriana Escandon, community organizer in Queens, and other special guests for a lively discussion on the cultural, and socio-economic impact of favors!
