WHAT: A great evening for families and friends of all ages, the third annual
Flicks in the Garden at Sunnyside Gardens Park honors film and its amazing power to bring communities together to laugh, learn, and make memories. This year’s event is co-presented with The Skillman Project, a neighborhood community group founded by business owners on Skillman Ave. in the Sunnyside/Woodside area of Western Queens.

This year’s Flicks in the Gardens will showcase 50 minutes of vintage cartoons curated byTommy José Stathes of CartoonsOnFilm. Tommy’s carefully selected family-friendly cartoons will delight the kid in all of us:

Betty Boop’s Crazy Inventions
How’s Crops?
Jack Frost
Love in a Pond
Molly Moo Cow & the Butterflies
Pigs in a Polk

While waiting for the sun to set so the films can begin, an interactive arts and crafts and dance program will keep the whole family entertained:

· Arts and crafts by UnplugKids

· Interactive kids ballet performance and lesson by Sunnyside Ballet Studio

· Ballet dancers’ hair and make-up by Kmia Salon

Pizza, small plates and vintage cartoons cookies by C.A.K.E.: Cakes and Kids Events will be available for purchase. The Skillman Project will provide free treats for kids.

WHERE: Sunnyside Gardens Park, a 3.5 acre park located in the heart of the historic district of Sunnyside Gardens, Queens: 48-21 39th Avenue, Sunnyside, NY 11104

Sunnyside Gardens Park is just blocks from the 7 train at 46th St. (15-min. from Midtown Manhattan.) Take the NE exit from the 46th St. station, walk 3 blocks to 39th Ave., take a right and walk two blocks to entrance at 48th St.
