Flushing Town Hall – Bringing the Community together
In the midst of Downtown Flushing there is a 144 year-old landmark building. It is the home to a beautiful gallery, a 308 seat concert theater, and a lovely outdoor space. Welcome to Flushing Town Hall. From 1902 (after Flushing’ 1898 incorporation into NYC) until the 1960’s, FTH functioned primarily as a courthouse; the lobby held a bank branch and upstairs hosted community meetings and dances.
Come and explore Flushing Town Hall during QAX 2010 with their exhibition: “Jazz Live!” – Taken from the collection of FCCA, this exhibition features photographs of jazz artists who have performed at FTH since 1993. Their gift shop showcases handcrafted pieces from over 50 Queens and Long Island based artists. Add this unique location to your Flushing visits during the Queens Art Express!
