Local Project – True to their name

Local Project is a venue that is true to its name. Local: located in Long Island City, Queens, LP is in a convenient neighborhood that is easily accessible by subway, bicycle or car. Project: supporting art projects of all mediums. LP believes in and understands the need for a space that will receive new possibilities in art without the concern of selection criteria that rules most galleries throughout the city. Everyone gets involved in the projects as well. Shows are put together between the artists, LP Crew and volunteers.

On May 8th LP presents, “Almost you & me” Mixed media works highlighting emotive primates by June Kosloff opens. Kosloff’s first solo show, this is an exploration of fragility and emotion in primates. On exhibit through May 22, the opening reception takes place 5/8 from 6-9pm.

QAX invites you to get on board and visit Local Project during the QAX festival next month for LP’s exhibition featuring vinyl records: “It’s Been a Long Play, and We Still Play It!” LP will also be hosting a DJ marathon during QAX where all vinyl DJ’s are welcome to spin at their outdoor turntables.
