Calpulli Youth Dance (Calpulli Danza Juvenil) is a program by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company which seeks to provide enriching dance and cultural training to youth across New York City. The program is led by Calpulli’s teaching artists and hosted at professional dance studios in Astoria, Queens and Staten Island. The program is focused on the regional dance traditions of Mexico. Dance training incorporates lessons in history, movement fundamentals, esteem-building, team work, and supports a healthy, active lifestyle. The program is by voluntary donation. All families are invited to bring their children to this unique arts experience made up of fun, movement, and learning.
