About the Artist
Called “one helluva rock’n’roller-coaster ride” by Vibe magazine, Toshi Reagon is a celebration of all that’s progressive and uplifting in American music. Since taking the stage at age 17, the singer-songwriter-guitarist has moved audiences with her hold-nothing-back approach to rock, blues, R&B, country, folk, spirituals and funk. Her live performances are irresistible. Some of her proudest moments include playing for her godfather Pete Seeger’s 90th birthday at Madison Square Garden, a benefit for his environmental organization, Clearwater. She has also performed with the Freedom Singers at the White House in President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s tribute to the music of the civil rights movement.
