About the Artist

Queen GodIs is a Poet, Performance Artist, and Performance Art Therapist who serves communities seeking transformation through art. Her holistic approach blends Hip Hop, Storytelling and Soul, engaging audiences in dialogue and activism. She has performed across the U.S., South Africa, Europe, India, and the Caribbean; and appeared on MTV Radio, NPR, BBC, WBAI, and the HBO series, Brave New Voices. Queen has written and performed three solo Off-Broadway shows, produced her debut CD, Power U!, and been published in several poetry anthologies. She is currently mentoring youth and creating new work, including The Adventures of Auntie Queen, a multimedia project that offers lessons from her travels.
