Opening day: Saturday, July 27th 1:00 AM – 6:00 PM
In Red Hook, gaze out onto a spectacular seascape from a cityscape with an industrial aesthetic, yet a small town feel. This is the only point on dry land, where Lady Liberty will look back at you. Turn and enter a Civil War era warehouse – home of the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition and this summer’s exhibition: ’scapes, July 27 – August 18. The exhibit opens on Saturday, July 27th with an all-day Meet the Artists reception, an opportunity for visitors to meet and chat with the exhibiting artists. Throughout the day, the young New York based Wayne Tucker Quintet, will be performing a variety of jazz standards as well as some of trumpet player Tucker’s original compositions. Sunday concerts start at 3PM. It is across from the Fairway supermarket and down the block from IKEA in Red Hook Brooklyn. Accessible by public transportation and biking is a breeze! BWAC is the largest non-profit artists group in Brooklyn and one of the oldest—this year is its 35th birthday. The space for the BWAC gallery is donated by The O’Connell organization.
